UNDERCOVER DUNK HIGH 1985 Japanese designer Jun Takahashi and his Undercover label continue their collaboration this week with a unique Dunk High colorway. The new sneaker recalls the silhouette of the original Dunks from 1985, featuring black leather overlays and a \’Gym Red\’ pebbled nubuck upper. Each pair also features a painted midsole and \’Undercover Basketball Association\’ logo on the heel, a nod to Undercover\’s fictional basketball league.
Undercover principal Jun Takahashi (Takahashi Jun) created a unique colorway for this Dunk High 1985, paying homage to classic basketball with the original design, while echoing the legendary style of Undercover\’s latest clothing line. The fit inherits the shape of the 1985 original, enhanced with Takahashi\’s fine craftsmanship and design sensibility. The Dunk High 1985 x UNDERCOVER takes the look and feel of the 1985 Dunk shoe, while injecting craftsmanship and creativity. The shoe\’s upper features black leather and red nubuck for a contrasting effect that showcases classic basketball tones as well as Undercover\’s favorite colorway, including a splashed midsole. Finally, the heel counter bears the \’Undercover Basketball Association\’ logo, which not only highlights the Dunk High 1985\’s original basketball performance design, but also symbolizes the new page in history written by being selected as the designated shoe of the virtual Undercover basketball league.
Dunk High 1985 \’Gym Red\’ is designer Jun Takahashi\’s classic interpretation of the stadium. The frame of the shoe body is covered with black and red camouflage, creating a strong sense of retro. The side of the shoe is made of red leather Swoosh Logo, which not only highlights the texture, but also has a touch of domineering.
